Located in North Central Hays County, the Hays Consolidated Independent School District covers more than 221 square miles. The district serves more than 24,000 students in three counties at more than two dozen campuses.

Founded in 1967, Hays CISD now incorporates in its consolidation what used to be the Buda and Kyle school districts. When it opened, the district served fewer than 1,200 students. Now serving more than 20 times that number, Hays CISD is the largest of the four school districts in Hays County.

The district offers dynamic, rigorous instruction with a commitment to serve the unique needs of every child. Its modern, energy-efficient schools are ideal learning environments, staffed with highly-qualified, caring teachers and other educational professionals.
