Applications for transfers—from one school to another within Hays CISD, as well as from another district into Hays CISD—will be available at the Central Administration Office, 21003 Interstate 35 in Kyle, beginning Monday, Feb. 1. The applications are for school year 2010-11. Deadline for transfer applications to be returned to the Central Office is Tuesday, June 1. No application for a transfer received after June 1 shall be considered. All students wishing to transfer to a school outside of their attendance zone next year must complete a transfer application. Students who have been granted transfers in the past must fill out a new transfer form. Students of employees must complete a transfer application every year. Transfer applicants will be notified of the approval/denial after June 1 throughout the summer, depending on enrollment numbers at each campus. All transfer applications will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis. A student for whom an intradistrict transfer is approved shall be notified in the written transfer agreement that he or she must follow all rules and regulations of the district, including those for student conduct and attendance, and that violation of the district’s rules and regulations may result in revocation of the intradistrict transfer agreement. A campus principal may make a recommendation to the superintendent or designee that a student’s intradistrict transfer be revoked for violation of such rules and regulations.
